University College London Administrative Law and the Ombudsman Essay
Description
Answer ONE of the following questions:
1. ‘Administrative justice is better delivered out of the courtroom for reasons
of expediency, practicality and efficiency.’
Critically evaluate this statement in relation to judicial review OR the
Ombudsman.
2. “A narrower test of standing [for judicial review] will restrict the court’s ability to
deal with issues of public importance and undermine the rule of law. …. If this
occurs it will be a significant retrograde step in our law that is likely to increase
costs and delays and undermine the flexibility of the judicial review system. No
case has been made which justifies restricting the current approach to
standing.”
