WK4 Arminianism Discussion

Objective: Develop an Apologetic for Arminianism.

One of the most prominent theological debates within Protestantism centers on the question of God’s Sovereignty and human free will. Ohio Christian University stands in the tradition of Wesleyan Arminianism. We affirm the sovereignty of God and believe that he has willed to extend his grace to all of humanity.

• When we respond to this “prevenient grace” that God extends, our hearts are made able to make a choice to embrace or reject salvation. An alternative viewpoint would argue that God is not sovereign if he wills all to come to know him, but some reject him. It then follows that only the elect are willed by God to receive salvation.
