Wayne State University Why Do People Sweat Chemistry Discussion
Question Description
I’m working on a chemistry discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Read the following Kids Health article, A Kid’s Guide to Fever, to understand why your body raises its temperature when you are ill. Now, read the following About.com Weather article, Why Do You Sweat, that explains how your body maintains its temperature in the absence of illness.
Choose one of the following scenarios:
Scenario 1: You are a small child. You do not feel well. Your mother takes your temperature, and you have a fever. You ask her what a fever is.
Scenario 2: You are a professional athlete. You are extremely hot. You are sweating, but you do not feel any relief from it. You ask your team doctor what is going on.
Write a script that describes your scenario. Include a description of the setting, the temperature and weather conditions, and any other details that might be pertinent. Be sure to include, in your own words, how either your mother or your team doctor describes the scientific process that is taking place. It will need to be 5-6 complete sentences.
