Conflict is a normal part of any team experience. Understanding conflict and possessing skills and strategies to effectively manage it will facilitate and enhance the overall team effectiveness. Complete the Conflict Styles Questionnair

on pages 302-304 of your text.  Then prepare a reaction paper responding to the questions listed below.

NOTE: For this questionnaire, you are to identify two different conflict situations which you have been involved with 2different people. It could be a parent, manager, friend, co-worker, roommate, sibling, etc.  When responding to the questionnaire, Person A and B refer to the two people with whom you are having/have had a conflict. To make it clearer, the author should have used “Conflict A and Conflict B” instead of “Person A and Person B”.

NOTE: ANSWER ALL THESE QUESTIONS.

1. Describe the 5 styles presented in your text as measured by this Assessment. 

2. What were your results from the Assessment for each of the 5 styles? ( What are your numbers?) 

3. Discuss your preferred style (based on the Assessment) for managing conflict. Describe how this style is consistent or not consistent with your actual behavior in conflict situations. 

4. Describe a conflict situation you in which you have been personally involved….what was it all about and who was it with (friend, parent, boss, etc.). What conflict resolution style did you use in this situation and why? Describe your effectiveness in managing this conflict using this style.

5. In retrospect, which of the other 4 styles might have been more effective and why.
