UOC Cardiosvacular Disease Research

UOC Cardiosvacular Disease Research

Description

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in today’s society. Six of the eight key risk factors for cardiovascular disease can be addressed or considerably modified with regular exercise. Cardiovascular activity is vital for maintaining our hearts healthy since, like skeletal muscle, the heart muscle will atrophy if not used.

Investigate some of the data on cardiovascular health and the significance of exercise. (Please cite your work if you used a website or textbook.) Share your responses to the following questions with the class.

1) What cardiovascular health research did you come across? (Don’t forget to cite the source.)

2) How has the information affected your views on the value of cardiovascular exercise (or not)?

3) How do you (or will you) exercise your cardiovascular system? (Be as specific as possible; frequency, intensity, time, and activity kind.)

Please provide a credible source (see p. 16 of your Pearson book “Finding Credible Health Information,” as well as https://credibility.stanford.edu/guidelines/).
