In this assignment, you will analyze an advertisement/commercial of your choice. You will find a video or print ad that interests you, identify “the message in the ad” (i.e., what the ad is trying to say to consumers/viewers) and explain how 3 concepts learnt in class were employed in this advertisement to encode the message that you identified.
- Identify and describe the message of the ad – what the ad is trying to say (5 marks)
- Identifies and describe three concepts learned in the course that were used in the ad to help get the ad’s message across to viewers (5 marks for each course concept)
- Writing style: American Psychological Association (APA) or any other recognized writing style (e.g. MLA, Chicago style, etc).
- Paper length: 4-5 pages (do not exceed this page limit). I do not read parts of your assignment that go over the page limit.
- Font: 12 point, Times New Roman
- Line Spacing: 2 (aka double-spaced), left justified
- Page Layout: 1-inch margins
