Student will research Indigenous art as a form of resistance in relation to a specific Indigenous rights issue (justice system, education, housing, MMIWG2S, water, environment…etc.). Students will create an art piece that showcases how art can be used as a form of resistance in reference to Indigenous Nations and Indigenous artists that have used art as a political tool. Students may use any safe and appropriate materials and format for their art piece. In addition to the art piece, students will explain their art piece in written form. The write up should connect their art piece to the above information as well as provide a critical reflection on it.
