Written music history began in what we now know as the Medieval Period in Music History, (and boy, has it changed a lot!)  You will write 150 words on this topic and include a source citation. Music has been around as long as people have. We will be resesarching when music began to be written down, because it has not always been. Writing the music down is a relatively “recent” develop of a little over 600 years ago. (Hey, it is recent when you look at the history of the world……)

In this assignment, uou will want to mention monks, monasteries, Guido D’Arezzo, and Pope Gregory, definitely. (Guido D’Arezzo came up with up with something called the “Guidoian Hand”. It is very important.
