Consider brands that appear to be reliant on a figurehead (e.g., Apple with Steve Jobs, Virgin with Richard Branson) and create a proposal for a ‘post-founder’ situation where the brand has to live and develop without its lead personality. You may want to independently research Apple’s situation where Tim Cook took control as CEO after the death of Steve Jobs, also taking into consideration the extensive creative role of Jonathan Ive. Ive is Apple’s senior vice president of Design, and he’s responsible for the creation of countless Apple designs, reporting initially to Jobs, and now to CEO Tim Cook. In less than two decades, Jobs and Ive transformed Apple from being near bankruptcy into the most valuable corporation on the planet, worth more than $665 billion.
