In class this week we introduced counterarguments and overcoming objections through acknowledging their origin is generally tied to one (or multiple) components of thought:

Cognitive Dissonance: Our preconceived ideas about a topic or position
Debatable Fact: Factual information we believe which refutes an argument or position
Personal Bias: Tangible barriers or physical/mental limitations that restrict acceptance of an argument or position

Considering our discussion this week, as well as our previous conversations, answer the prompts below regarding the New York times opinion article “Hooked on Our Smartphones”
