#2 ANDREA: Data analysis, if used properly can lead to advances in health care by allowing information to be accessed immediately at all times by just about anyone. There are several ways in which this information can help the health care industry. Fo instance being able to use productive modeling. Predictive modeling allows us to used data from the current time and historical data to predict future outcomes. This is completed using data mining, statistics, and machines picking up on patterns. Data analysis can also help to reduce health care costs. This can be completed by reducing appointment no-shows, managing supply chain costs and preventing equipment breakdowns, and decreasing fraud. With health care being so expensive we are slowly seeing a change in costs being accumulated from fee-for-service to value-based care (“University of Pittsburgh,” 2021). During these changes, it is a great time to follow analysis to see where patients are receiving services and this information is benefited by using predictive modeling.

Other ways in which analysis can help health care is by improving patient care, outcomes and wait time.

#3 BETH: We are just at the beginning of exploring how augmented reality can improve health care. Madison (2018) defines augmented reality as “the use of displays, cameras, and sensors to overlay digital information onto the real world. In contrast to Virtual reality (VR), which creates an entirely new world” (para 2). The explosion of technology has created opportunities for us – just think of your cell phone and applications. The camera in our cell phones now mirror the quality of an actual camera. Speakers and sensors in our computers are now clear and accurate. Augmented reality allows us to use digital information and apply to our environment.

Health care education is a great way to use augmented reality. Health care workers need to assimilate and apply a large amount of anatomical information and understand how the body functions in order to improve outcomes. Augmented reality can provide the opportunity to visualize and interactive with representations prior to providing care to actual patients.
