UN Artificial Intelligence Essay
Description
Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) is expected to introduce game changing technology to virtually all aspects of our business and personal lives. This introduces a number of challenges to intellectual property legal structures. For instance, if an AI- enabled program were to create a painting or even write a book, who would be the author? Would it be the company who developed the AI-enabled program, the licensee of the program, or the AI-enabled program or robot itself? Or would copyright protection even be applicable? What about an AI-developed invention? Would patent protection apply and if so, ho would be the inventor?

Watch the Frontline documentary, which you can find for free on PBS, Season 19, Episode 17, entitled “In the Age of AI”. After watching the documentary and reading the material, write a 800 paper discussing the challenges that AI will pose in protecting intellectual property, as well as to the courts in enforcing copyright and patent law in the age of AI and addressing the other questions I’ve posed in this assignment.
