I’m working on a writing question and need support to help me learn.

We’ve thought about a couple of different ways of engaging one’s audience (e.g. considering their education, interests, use of media) and different types of audiences (e.g. imagined communities, fan communities, etc.). I would like you to analyze a public figure’s work (lecture, artistic performance, online writing, other media) for how it engages their audience and who that audience might be.

To respond to this thread, you can either:

Post a link to an example (video, blog, etc.) of someone engaging their audience well. How do you think they are trying to reach out to their audience, and who do you think their audience is?

Respond to someone else’s example by offering further analysis, clarification, or a different interpretation of that example.

Your post doesn’t need to be longer than a paragraph, but should be more developed than “here’s an example of someone talking to a general audience” or “I agree with what you say/I like what you posted”.
