Question Description
I’m working on a education & teaching writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Design an “oppressive” university academic advising system. (For reference on what academic advising normally entails, you may review Edit Links to an external site..) What would an oppressive advising system try to predict? What sorts of variables would it use as predictors? How would it make recommendations to advisors and students (or other stakeholders)? (You may supplement your writing with other media, such as flowcharts to show process or UI sketches to show interaction.) Note: Your advising system should not be implicated in committing physical violence.
Explain how you see this system as oppressive. For example, what negative outcomes might you foresee, or what ethical rules might be broken by it?
