Write a literature review on two articles from recent journal papers (2005 onwards), chapters

of books (2000 onwards) or a reputable online source.

One of the reviews must be from a

journal paper. The review should focus on:

(i) how certain pedagogical approaches / activities support students’ learning of

science,

(ii) what research tells us about how these approaches / activities can be carried

out for primary science education,

(iii) the similarities / differences or advantages / disadvantages of using these

approaches / activities or a synthesis of the information found in the papers,

(iv) how some of the approaches / activities can be applied in your planned

lesson.

Do not merely give a summary of the papers. Refer to the checklist first and then seek help

from your tutor if you are not sure what goes into this section. The length of the review should

be about 1000 words.
