Agile leaders are people who push the Agile agenda and make sure it happens. It could be a Scrum Master, Product Owner, Product Manager, Agile coach, etc. They understand the true meaning of agility and provide continuous support, so the organization experiences the right kind of change. An Agile Leader must have the following skills:

  • Collaborate with others:  A leader must be able to co-create the vision and direction with their teams to lead Agile. Through this process, they can deliver value to the organization and its customers.
  • Facilitate: It is a leader’s responsibility to ensure that people and teams grow, engage, laugh, build trust, and deliver exceptional service in an Agile environment.
  • Experiment: Agile leaders should guide their teams through experiments by creating a safe environment for learning, experimentation, and testing. During the experiments, the Agile Leader serves as a mentor to ensure that the participants learn quickly and safely.
  • Create a culture that works: Leaders who practice agile are committed to continuously improving culture so that their teams experience an inspiring environment. Instead of micromanaging and controlling their teams, leaders should create and improve the culture.
