In a short essay, describe the findings of the article and indicate whether the author claims a causal relationship or association. How was the study conducted (if multiple studies are referenced, choose one)? What evidence is communicated to the reader? Do you believe the claims made in the article and why or why not? Should people change their behavior based on this research? Be sure to explain your reasoning for support and/or skepticism. As part of your argument you should use (and demonstrate understanding of) at least two statistical concepts. Some examples that are relevant in this chapter include: conditional probability, joint probability, observational study, randomized experiment, confounding variable, association/correlation, and causality.
