Ensuring that a human resources department is properly structured, organized, and staffed can be the difference between a respected and effective human resource department and one that does not meet its obligation to its stakeholders. In the following discussion, present the general principles and/or typical guidelines that a human resource professional should follow in both structuring and staffing an HR department that serves approximately 1000 employees, including principle responsibilities that would be required of that typical HR department, type and level of employees in that HR department, and the specific traits that a human resource professional should possess to manage a department of that size and responsibility.
