1. What is Paul’s understanding of the new convert’s relationship to observation of Torah Law? How is this similar and/or different to Jesus’ understanding of the Law according to the Gospel of Matthew? How are their overall messages or goals similar and/or different?
2. What is the difference between how followers of Isis view the goddess in relation to the other gods and how the Christians view their God in relation to the gods? Consider both this excerpt from 1 Corinthians here and the Letter to the Galatians.
3. What is similar between Isis is offering to her followers and the ascended Christ to his followers? Consider both 1 Corinthians and Galatians.
4. What is in disrepair according to Pliny when regions become Christian? Why might this be considered dangerous religiously and politically in Pliny’s view?
