Mental Health Outcomes Disparities Across Gender

1. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), men are 3 times more likely than women to commit suicide despite similar incidence rates of mental health illnesses (Gough & Novikova, 2020).
2. My paper will address the differences in mental health outcomes for men and women across the general population.
3. Gough and Novikova (2020) suggest that social stigma and masculinities lead to lower health-seeking behavior in men compared to women. Sensitization and public education campaigns can help reduce stigma and encourage more men to seek help.
