I’m working on a social work question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Think about the military experiences of the Sharpe family (Case Study 10.1), switching the deployment from Bobby to Vivian. Are there different types of family and community supports needed by the family when the female is deployed vs. when the male is deployed? How might reentry issues change or be the same for both the soldier and his/her family based on the gender of the parent deployed? To what extent does the parenting role influence the gender differences re deployment, i.e. what are the implications for children when the mother is deployed vs. when the father is deployed? For the parent at home and for the parent deployed? For members of the family’s support system?
