I’m working on a literature writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

When Thomas Jefferson wrote the draft of the Declaration of Independence, he moved the basis of government away from the divine right of kings (the “Old World” model where kings and queens felt their authority came from God). Outline his argument, explaining why America had to break away from England, and explain where Jefferson feels authority is centered in the new nation he envisions.
