In fact, Suetonius writes in the opening chapter that I have decided to report on a number of family members to clarify how Nero lapsed from the virtues of his ancestors yet reproduced each one’s legacy of vice (1, p. 195). Starting with chapter 26 (p. 208), Suetonius says a whole lot about his vices. Offer two specific vices and explain how they illustrate the larger evil within him.
