1) Slave:
Put yourself in the sandals of the slave who is sent to chase after Socrates at the very beginning of Book I and then, at the dinner party, serves the food, washes the dishes, etc. You are used to these people prattling on while you do all the work around them. But this particular discussion of justice piques your interest and you begin to pay attention. Which view of justice do you find more attractive, Socrates’ or Thrasymachus’?

Is what Socrates says (and how he says it) in Book I consistent with what you learned about his philosophy in Apology and Crito?
3) Same Socrates (II)?
Is what Socrates says (and how he says it) in Books II and III consistent with what you learned about his philosophy in Apology and Crito?
4) One-dimensional man?
When Socrates and his friends set out to build a city in Book II, they immediately discuss the question of human nature. What is man (or different men) like for Socrates and what are the political implications of that view?
