“The most frequently reported organizational barriers to implementation of evidence based practice were lack of human resources (shortage of nurse), lack of internet access at work, heavy workload, and lack of access to nursing journals” (Khammarnia, Mohammadi, Amani, Rezaeian, & Setoodehzadeh 2015). For evidence based practice to occur it has to be accessible to nurses so they can follow and keep up to date with the recent practices. In school nurses learn the most recent practice but it changes overtime and nurses are not able to keep up or they do not read any recent evidence based practice articles. With the shortage of nurses and the high turn around rate at hospitals, the facility may not focus on educating nurses. The facility may leave the education of the nurses to themselves. The research may not be available to nurses and the facility may not encourage the nurses to keep up to date with current practices. The nurse can get medical journals sent to them and every two years in the state of Kansas we have to have 36 hours of continuing education when we renew out license. This gives nurses the opportunity to do evidence based practice research and apply it to healthcare, The facility can offer classes about the most recent up to date practices or have an education nurse to help keep nurses updated. Educating and learning is away to overcome the barriers to evidence based practice. Health care is always changing and nurses need to be kept up to date. “Training and education to increase the level of nursing

knowledge and skills to use evidence-based practice, organizing the nursing time, support nurses with the

resources required and provide adequate supervision can facilitate the implementation of evidence-based practice which positively influences the quality of care” (Alatawi, Aljuhani, Alsufiany, Aleid, Rawah, Aljanabi, & Banakhar 2020).
