Follow the link here to download free encryption software. The particular encryption software we are going to use was chosen because it is powerful, relatively simple to use, and of course, free. It is called Kruptos 2 Professional, and this link is directly to its creator. You get 30 free uses with the trial version. The current version is 5.0. When you download, proceed carefully to make sure that you are actually downloading Kruptos, and not the junkware dowloads that are spread throughout their website

Kruptos comes with a short tutorial, but the program is so simple you will probably not even need to use it.

To use Kruptos, simply click on Add Files at the top left of the screen, search for the file you want to encrypt/decrypt and then select it. Then click on the “Encrypt” or “Decrypt” button and you will see the file extension change. Encrypted files have their normal filenames, but with an extension of .k2p; unencrypted files have their normal filenames and extensions.
