Description
Therapeutic experiences in graduate counseling programs are essential to the graduate experience. In my master’s program in order for us to graduate you had to complete a minimum of three (3) counseling sessions with a licensed professional (psychologist/counselor). I think it is essential because in any field where you provide a service it is good to get the experience of a customer so you can see how it feels to be on the other side. By attending therapy I got a chance to see how clients feel in their first session; the nerves they feel when filling out paper work and how difficult it can be to open up and share personal things with a stranger. Consider the following: how can attending therapy enhance your experience as a graduate student?
