Do you think OJ Simpson’s criminal trial in 1995 should have been moved out of the area (Los Angeles) – to a different location – given all the publicity it had attracted? What other remedies would have been appropriate to guarantee a fair trial?

Provide logical, well reasoned arguments (based on what you learned from the discussion about Free Press – Fair Trial. That is, elaborate and persuade me why you think one way or another. As I said in class, I am the judge/court and I have to make a decision what to do with this trial. Identify yourself either as the defense lawyer or the prosecutor(in each case your argument will be different, of course). Do not get influenced by what actually happened in the OJ Simpson trial, but instead give me YOUR well substantiated opinion. You can read up on the case & trial, of course, if you do not remember it.

Before you start, you need to refresh your memory as to what actual remedies the judge in that trial imposed; you are free to criticize them or approve of them – but regardless of which way your legal argument goes, it must be backed up by some good reasoning.
