Topic Paper/Case Study: Christopher Robin (character)rom Goodbye Christopher Robin
Disorder: PTSD
Case Study: Select a widely available book or other work of literature, film, or television that demonstrates a problem, disease, or disorder associated with one of the systems covered in class: sensation/perception, memory and learning, cognition, or personality.
1) Provide a brief synopsis of the work you’ve selected and the character(s) that will be the focus of your project.
2) Talk about possible etiology. Describe how this problem represents a break-down in an important aspect of this system. If there are competing hypotheses about how this condition functions or if it is unknown make sure to discuss the controversy. You may want to address how accurate their condition is portrayed given what we know.
3) Discuss how this person’s functioning (social, occupational, relational) is affected by their condition. Consider biological, psychological, and social aspects that contribute to this person’s symptoms.
4) Describe possible treatments, therapies, or changes to the character’s environment and life that could be used to improve their symptoms/overall functioning. If there are multiple treatments or changes that could be made, you will want to use research and knowledge of the character’s own circumstances to make a statement about what would be the best fit. Use the existing scientific literature to support your assertions and arguments throughout each section of the paper.
Provided below is the document on how to write a case study, the template, and the break down of each section of the case study.
