MSCR 1100 BU Colonialism Racism and Representation Summary

I’m working on a film writing question and need a sample draft to help me learn.

1.    Two Summaries: A brief overview of the author’s central argument, main points, and key terms (approximately ¾ page per text. In many cases, you may not want to cover all aspects, but emphasize the particular concepts or terms that you find most compelling or relevant to you.

2.    An Analysis: A brief (roughly ¾ to 1 page) elaboration on how each particular text informs your understanding of film and, primarily, its cultural or social context (i.e notions of race, gender, class, disability, etc.). If possible, or when appropriate, note how the two texts may agree or differ on a particular issue, or how/why they illustrate a particular formal or cultural concern. You are welcome to describe examples from any movie (not necessarily one assigned for class) to illustrate your point.
