What do I need to do to ensure I get all points available for essays?
- Read the assigned chapters in the textbook.
- Submit the assignment on time via the Canvas submission button.

- Assignments must contain 5 textbook cites (no more; no less) in the required format (see question above).
- You must answer the question posed; you will receive a zero if you do not. Partial credit is not given if the question asked is not answered. Your responses must demonstrate an understanding of the course material; therefore, you should use proper terms, categories, etc
- How long must my essay be, and in what format?Your essay response must be five paragraphs in length and a total of 500 to 600 words. Do not go over 600 words. You may count the total of words in your response by clicking on the Review tab in Microsoft Word then choosing Word Count. Your essay must also contain five textbook citations.Essay format for 4 areas of discussion:
- 1) Paragraph 1 = introduction paragraph= contains 1 textbook citation
- 2) Paragraph 2 = your first point = contains 1 textbook citation
- 3) Paragraph 3 = your second point = contains 1 textbook citation
- 4) Paragraph 4 = your third point = contains 1 textbook citation
- 5) Paragraph 5 = your fourth point = contains 1 textbook citation
- How should I cite information I use from the textbook? Please use the examples below:
- “Work to develop such an index is still ongoing.” (Smith, 24).
- “Work to develop such an index is still ongoing.” (Textbook author’s last name, the page number where the information was obtained).
