Miami Dade College Wk 1 Evidence Based Practice in Nursing Discussion Response
Description
marrian
It is reasonable to expect nurses to remain current in the latest research and evidence-based practice areas within their specialty. The evidence-based practice encompasses incorporating the top evidence accessible nursing knowledge and the standards and preferences of the individual patients and their respective families (Sendelbach, 2008). It is also believed to provide some form of regulation related to nursing care and the latest available scientific advances in medicine and patient care. Through evidence-based practice, nurses can identify patients’ cultural differences, provide proper intervention, measure the quality of care, avoid errors, collaborate with other interdisciplinary teams, and ultimately, provide higher quality care. In addition, this responsibility should be shared by both nurses and healthcare business organizations. Health care business organizations should provide proper training and education on evidence-based practice and patient care. By sharing this responsibility, patients can receive a higher quality of care, leading to more positive patient outcomes (Correa-de-Araujo, 2016).
