Miami Dade College Therapy Dogs International Peer Review

Description

Hi Class, miles

The website of Therapy Dogs International was my selection. The fact that I had a dog that has received certification as a therapy dog sparked my curiosity. Her name is Abigail, and she is nearly nine years old. She is a black lab/Irish wolfhound mix (a mut I discovered in a parking lot as a puppy), and she is a black lab/Irish wolfhound mix (a mut I found in a parking lot as a puppy). She is referred to be an emotional support dog in certain circles. She had received specialized training and certification in order to assist me with my anxiety and despair. The influence she has had on my life and mental health has been enormous. According to the information on this website, there are also dogs that have been taught to respond to calamities. Disaster Stress Relief Dogs are exactly what they sound like (DSRD). It was the first time Therapy Dogs International had brought volunteers and their dogs to the scene of the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, and it was their first time working with victims of a tragedy (Therapy dogs international). What I believe had the greatest influence on me was learning that Therapy Dogs International accepts dogs of all breeds (including pit bulls). This pleasantly surprised me since I am a strong believer that pit bulls have a bad image as a result of their owners’ bad behavior. It is the manner in which you raise a dog that is important. Pit bulls are not permitted in Miami apartment buildings and certain neighborhoods owing to their negative image. I like the inclusivity that this organization fosters.
