I’m working on a writing discussion question and need support to help me learn.

I want you to select a religious specialist and identify whether their role in their religion/community best fits with the characteristics of a shaman or a priest. The specialist can be from any religion/religious practice from around the world. Please be sure you are being as specific as possible – for example, if you selected “pastor” as your specialist, you would need to specify which religion and/or denomination you are going to describe (e.g. Evangelical pastor, Lutheran pastor, Methodist pastor, etc.).

Once you’ve chosen the religious specialist,

name the specialist and identify which religion/religious practice they are associated with

describe their main duties/responsibilities

discuss whether you think the religious specialist should be designated as a shaman or a priest, and what evidence supports this designation
