Long Beach City College Writing English Paper

Long Beach City College Writing English Paper

Description

Reflect on what you enjoyed, what challenged you, and how this class could improve.

Create any type of reflection to express your overall enjoyment, challenges, and suggestions to improve this class. For example, you may:

  • Write a poem
  • Share a picture or a series of pictures (you could do this in a Google Slide or PowerPoint)

Create a video

  • Sketch a drawing
  • Write a journal entry
  • Find a quote or a series of quotes
  • Make a Presentation (Google Slide, PowerPoint, Prezi, PowToon, etc.)
  • Directions
  • Write a 1-2 page self-reflection paper, using MLA format, in which you  reflect and evaluate your own experience and performance in English 101. This is your chance to tie together the concepts you have learned from this class discussions, from assignments, from other, and from yourself during the past several weeks.
  • Your paper should not just be a narrative description of what you did in class. Instead, it should be a personal reflection and honest evaluation about your growth as a writer, a student, and as a person. What did you really benefit from the class? What did you find difficult? What are you still working on? What did you realize from being in this class? This paper should be about you and how you have grown during the past weeks.
  • Do not just write in abstractions (generalizations) and personal feelings, such as “The class was extremely important to me because through discussions and the readings my thinking developed immensely.” A reader who does not know you and does not know this class, cannot gain information from these generalizations. Which subject? Which discussions? What did you read? What did you think about? From where to where did you develop?
