I’m working on a sociology discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The health of one’s family can be a stressful experience and impact the family system, subsystems, and individuals in various ways. However, these impacts can be reduced when protective factors such as coping and cultural resources are employed.

First, describe how it may negatively impact the family at different levels: an individual family member, a dyadic relationship, and broader family dynamics.

Second, highlight a factor that may be protective against the negative effects of a family member’s health condition. Describe how high levels of that protective factor might reduce the negative impacts at each level: individual, dyadic, and overall family levels.
