Quality improvement efforts are often focused on clinical areas of care. Administrators can have a powerful impact on quality improvement and goal attainment, even in non-patient facing roles. To prepare for this assignment, read the following case study: https://www.healthit.gov/case-study/quality-improvement-primary-care-practice. Take note that you may search for other case studies using the tool at the top of the webpage.

Using the HealthIT.gov website, the Herzing Library, or another search engine, identify three (3) healthcare quality or performance improvement case studies. All three should focus on a similar aspect of healthcare (either clinical or administrative).

In a Word document, prepare the following:

Explain the concept or issue all three case studies address.

Compare and contrast each of the following elements from all three case studies. The purpose of this is to identify similarities and differences between QI/PI approaches to a similar issue.

Quality drivers – what was the purpose for the improvement initiative?

• QI/PI Team members – who was involved and to what extent.
• QI/PI Tools and Methods – how progress was measured, analyzed, evaluated, etc.
