This subculture cannot be something the participant is entered into from birth (i.e., not a racial or ethnic subculture), or one that I would call inactive participation (for example, if one “belongs” to hip hop culture but they only just listen to hip hop music). I want you to choose a subculture in which the participants take on the dress, attitudes, customs, and behaviors of the subculture, often in order to help express some parts of themselves they feel they cannot express in their “regular” life.
