HCC Becoming an Optometrist Paper

Please describe what inspires your decision for becoming an optometrist, including your preparation for training in this profession, your aptitude and motivation, the basis for your interest in optometry, and your future career goals.

Background Information – Please use these additional information to help answer the questions.

-since I was young I always knew I wanted to be a doctor and always want to help people.I have been serving at church since I was young and knew that part of me always wanted to help people.

– Had an eye condition where I got hurt in the eye that caused it me to have redesh/brown dot in the corner of my eye when I was a younger that required laser surgery and when I came to the united states I was able to do the laser surgery to remove the dot.

– I also wear glasses since I was 12 years old and I depended on my glasses or my contacts all the time. They play big part of my daily life and without them I really can’t go with my day. I know how it feels not be able to see without glasses and how important they are in our lifes.

– I have attended online workshop by the coptic health organization of optometrist.I also have done shadowing that showed more and more about the file and the importance of it. how importer it is that a doctor can dingoes if you having a stroke and its possible to diagnose a patient if they are diabetic.

– my future career goals are to do residency and my have own clinic. And I hope one day I can open my own center to help those who in need who lost there vision / sight improvement.
