The Required Prompt

Write about what is important to know about you and your interpersonal relationships. Address all of the following:

Describe in detail two very significant, in-person, face-to-face interpersonal relationships with people with whom you have had or do have a close, well-developed relationship. These relationships should currently have/had an important influence on your life. These relationships can be current or past, and will likely involve a family member, close friend, intimate work or school relationship, or romantic partner. In your description of each relationship, include:

• • a specific description of the other person as a unique individual;
  • an detailed explanation of the relationship and how it developed (including how long it has lasted and from what age);
  • a description of how you respond to their uniqueness; what specific behaviors characterize how you behave in this relationship and distinguish it from other relationships you have or other relationships of a similar type?
  • an explanation with specific supporting evidence of what opportunities, gifts, and challenges the relationship has weathered (or not, if it has ended for any reason); and finally,
  • why you perceive the relationship to be particularly significant to you.
