In order to implement the change proposal there will need to be extensive planning involved. Strategic planning is the process in which organizational leaders purposefully look ahead into the future, outline goals for the organization, and develop a process to reach those goals (Whitney, 2018). The proposal will impact the company financially because they will need to hire new nurses that will become preceptors for newly hired nurses. The proposal would indicate that about 10 nurses be hired for this position. Administration would need to adjust the budget accordingly to accommodate this change.

A quality aspect of the change proposal that would have to be considered is developing a preceptor training program. In this instance there would be some sort of “train the trainer” program where the preceptors would be trained to ensure that they are training in a uniform fashion and all quality indicators are being met.

Finally a clinical aspect of the change proposal would be increasing the skills lab training. Currently in orientation there is one day for skills lab. The preceptors will need to attend this la before they begin training. In addition, skills lab should be increased to two days to accommodate for more hands on learning. (Nicole)
