Connect with a friend or family member: interview someone you know well (ideally an older relative!) about their literacy, language ideology, or misinformation, or about their parents’, grandparents, or great-aunt’s, or whoever’s literacy practice).
a. Write a 750-1000 word biographical essay or opinion piece that creatively links your interviewee’s answers to arguments made in at least one scholarly article about standard language ideology OR or misinformation. Your essay should include a summary of the article and demonstrate how your interviewee’s answers extend, complicate, agree with, or disagree with the ideas or concepts presented in the scholarly article you’ve chosen.
b. After you’ve written the essay, attach a separate page(s) that:
i. includes (brief) biographical information on your interviewee
ii. includes the interview questions you asked
