In this assignment, you will discuss your research paper topic in at least one paragraph.
You will state your paper topic and then introduce your topic and your arguments. You will describe how you plan to apply the theoretical concepts of patriarchy, gender essentialism, and intersectionality to your paper topic in at least three paragraphs.
For your paper topic, you must choose one of the following socio-cultural institutions: Family, Education, Biology/Medicine, The Body, Religion, Marriage/Romantic Partnerships, Sports, Leisure, Law, Media, Arts, Politics, Economy, Activism (or another area approved by the instructor).
You must decide your focus on a specific aspect of this institution. For example, if you were to choose the Arts, you might narrow your focus to the intersection of gender and race in the world of professional Ballet. If you were to choose education, you might focus on middle school teachers’ interactions with their students based on gender, class and race.
