GCU Projects and Changes in A Healthcare Institution Question
Description
The internal stakeholders at my facility would be the employees, managers, and administrator. In order to implement the change proposal successful the internal stakeholders need to be on board. Especially the managers and the administrator. Leadership is an important part of the change proposal. The leaders will be initiating the change and they will need to understand and support the change. The key to transformational change or any change is to have leadership that is able to understand it, support it, explain it, and move the organization to commit to it (Cowell et al, 2018). Leadership will also need to approve of the change proposal because it will have some monetary implications, such as hiring additional staff, that only they can approve.
The external stakeholders in this instance would be the patients, hospitals and external doctors that the agency works closely with. While they do not necessarily have to approve of the change proposal, they will benefit immensely should nurse turnover be decreased and employee retention be maintained. So while they do not have to approve of the change proposal, they do have an interest in whether the agency can increase and retain staffing.
I will attempt to gain the support of the internal stakeholders by laying out the pros and cons of my proposal, in a way that is clear and succinct. Having a solution that is easy to understand, follow and implement is the best way to present the proposal, in my opinion. The good thing is, the agency is desperate to retain nursing staff and should be open to all suggestions.
