GCCCD Are You Justified to Conduct an Investigative Stop Discussion
Description
You are a police officer on a walking patrol. It is 1:30 a.m. About an hour earlier, there were 911 calls from persons in this same area reporting an argument between a man and women. You look down an alley and see what is in this photo.
Using legal concepts from this unit discuss the following:
- Are you justified to conduct an investigative stop? Why or why not?
- Using the eight listed concepts on pages 292 and 293 of your text (“Facts Constituting Reasonable Suspicion”), describe in great detail what you would need to know to make a reasonable suspicion determination.
