1. What are global governance and its varieties, and why do we need global governance? What are international intergovernmental organizations (IGOs), and how can we distinguish between types of IGOs? What functions do IGOs perform in global governance?
2. In what ways is liberalism one of the most important theoretical approaches to global

What theoretical approach (realism, critical theories, social constructivism, or the English School) would you consider the most convincing alternative to liberalism in regard to global governance and why? How do theories of organizational interactions contribute to our understanding of global governance?

How legitimate and effective is the UN Security Council today? What might be acceptable and useful reforms, if any, of the UN Security Council?
