Assignment Introductory Letter & Logic Model

Submit your Introductory letter, brief proposal overview, Logic Model and references: See Chapter 42 of the Community Tool Box.

Include a cover page. Introductory Letter (3 pages of essay with at least 2 outside professional resources) that tells about the community where the need has been identified, the name of the agency requesting funds to service the need, the mission statement of the agency, and the mission of this proposed service, the amount of funds requested, the community problem (with evidence), as to why this service is necessary, who the population recipients of the service are and an approximate count of how many will benefit from this service, what change is expected in the service recipients, and what change is projected to occur in the community.

The cover letter with brief proposal intent should include a pseudo-agency name, address as though it were letterhead, and signed by a pseudo organizational official. The agencies mission/purpose should be included along with this program’s purpose, intent, and goals.

A well-written letter is likely to get you extra points in the reader’s mind. Make certain that all spelling and grammar are correct. There is the assumption, on the part of the reader (and it’s often true) that a poorly written cover letter and/or proposal indicates poor management; thus, less likely to earn the approval of reviewers.
