A written paper is required. The paper will focus on student selection of a specific group of older persons( e.g. age, geography, health condition, social setting, socioeconomic group, race or ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, etc) and how that group’s experience may be different from or similar to the normative aging experience. The paper should include a description of what aging issues are involved, assessment skills and interventions applicable to this group, whether public policy issues are involved, and what the role of the social worker might be. The paper should also include ethical dilemmas that social workers may encounter as mentioned in the literature.  The paper should be no longer than 10 pages in length and should reflect the use of current literature and research.  A discussion of the issues based upon the student’s conclusions should be included.
