Description
We want to design a battery pack, for lack of a better description, that is big enough to supply current to a 200 HP motor. For now assume the operating voltage is 400 volts. the necessary current to be 500 amps. The question is how big are the wires? That is to say what is the diameter of a wire that can carry 500 amps? This is an open ended question, there is no one answer. Look at the gauge tables, assume the wires are going to get hot and then calculate the diameter. How much heat can we tolerate so to make the wires functional? Give me details!
