You have likely displayed a list on your phone or tablet multiple times each day. For example, the app there is multiple news apps that provide a list of news articles, in which users scroll down the list, in which you tap the article link to read, review additional hyperlinks and images. Music apps also display lists to select different categories of music. And Restaurants use lists in their apps to select items from the menu. List make selecting from selected criteria organized for users. The list can be added to larger app projects to include multiple different features, such as maps. Multimedia is also widely used in apps to connect with the target audience. Android provides a special layout tool called a GridView, which is essential to develop a two-dimensional scrolling grid.

- Describe a ListView control and a GridView control. When would you use a ListView as opposed to a GridView, in a mobile app and why? Include at least two examples of ListView controls and two examples of GridView controls.
- Categorize the five different types of persistent data in an Android application, and construct an example of when it is best to use each type for saving data.
- Describe the process of writing Shared Preferences for implementation in an Android mobile application.
